Only 9 kilometres from Casal Sant’Elena you arrive at this magnificent medieval town founded by Charles IV.
The historic centre is well preserved: just outside the city walls you can easily park your car and walk up through the ancient city gates to the old town. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Tuscan vineyard landscape. Enjoy a stroll in the historic centre and eat in one of the authentic Italian restaurants. Things to see in the town are the defensive ramparts, the 14th-century fortress, the Torre di Santa Barbara and the Torre dell’Apparizione.
